John’s
sister-in-law, Sue Van Winkle Neubert of Dormont, Pennsylvania, writes that “sad news dampened our Christmas this year--my sister Gretchen's husband John P.K. Miller died
unexpectedly December 12th . . . He never got over her death, which occurred nearly ten years ago, and I'm sure
he thinks he got the best Christmas present ever! Dale and I had a wonderful relationship with John and Gretchen.
She was my only sibling and we were extremely close. We always felt one of the nicest happenings in our lives was the fact that when we married, our husbands became best
friends.”

Larry Edward Larson
(1939-2008)
Husband of Barbara Mohney
Larson
|
|
| Larry and Barb Larson, August 2007, Allegheny River near Parker, Pennsylvania |
Larry Edward Larson was born to Thomas and Ethel Larson on April 01, 1939 in Falls Creek,
Pennsylvania. He was one of nine
children and spent a very happy childhood hunting and fishing throughout western Pennsylvania. He met his wife Barbara in 1952 through his sister Jeanne, and the
two were married in July of 1960. Following his
graduation from Pennsylvania State University in 1961 (he was a very proud Nittany Lion), Larry and Barbara and their young
son, David, moved to Southern California to get away from the snowy winters and for Larry to begin a teaching
career. His three daughters Laura, Tricia, and Katherine were
born once the family was settled in Orange County. After teaching for two very long years, he found his calling in computer engineering
and spent the next 42 years working in the aerospace industry.
Larry was a loving man, known by all for his extreme generosity and his sense of humor and wit. Laughing and joking around was very important to him, and he used his humor to bring a smile to your face
and also to teach many important life lessons. It’s amazing how someone
who did not enjoy the teaching profession had so much to teach and share with the ones he loved and cared about. Larry found much joy and happiness in his eight grandchildren: Marcus, Aaron, Tad, Joshua, Shayna, Tyler,
Jacob, and Luke Edward. He spent many hours teaching them all to fish
and enjoy the outdoors and coaching them in both their athletic interests and more importantly in the lessons of life. We will forever miss our beloved fisherman and our “April Fool”.
