The primary tragedy faced by our family occurred
in the 1790s and the first decade of the 1800s,
when Catharina Truby Marshall and her two husbands,
Frederick Rohrer, Jr.,
and then John Marshall all died too young . . .

Wayne Guy Marshall

Sit on the ground beside me.

Your arguments

can come later

your ingenious

or specious

exegesis

for my tragic

condition.

But sit on the ground

beside me now

and weep with me

until my woe

flows over.

Bottle my tears

for a rainy day.
