The 1935 Death of
Wayne Guy Marshall
Wayne Marshall, the 18-year-old son of Guy Ralph Marshall (1884-1966) and Bessie
White (1886-1933) of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, died tragically at the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Boonsboro, Maryland, on 16 November 1935. The front-page news articles (below) from Indiana newspapers
tell the sad story of his accidental death. Wayne was one of fifty grandchildren of WIlliam Kelker Marshall and Anna Mary Rumbarger of Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. He is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana, Pennsylvania;
his father would be buried near him 31 years later.
